KIPP Colorado Schools participates in Denver Public Schools’ (DPS) School Choice enrollment process. To be eligible to attend a KIPP Colorado school, you must submit a School Choice form. You can find more information about school choice and the enrollment process here.
Please keep in mind that, unlike traditional middle schools, KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy and KIPP Northeast Denver Middle School begin in fifth grade, and that is the year our middle schools have the most available seats for new students. Similarly, our high schools, KIPP Denver Collegiate High School and KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy, enroll the largest number of new KIPP students in ninth grade. All KIPP Colorado schools will accept new students in later grades should there be seats available.
If you are a current KIPP 8th grade student moving into 9th grade, you will automatically be enrolled in the KIPP high school in your region, KIPP Denver Collegiate in Southwest Denver or KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy in the Far Northeast.

KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary opened its doors to our founding classes in Fall 2018. KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary will offer a full-day Early Childhood Education (ECE) program for 3 and 4- year olds, full-day Kindergarten, first grade, second grade and third grade for the 2021-22 school year. We will grow one grade per year until we are fully enrolled with students from ECE-3 through fourth grade.
At KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary, our work is grounded in our mission to provide an excellent and equitable education that teaches our children to be critical and creative problem solvers, lifelong learners, and activists who recognize and respond to injustice in their community and the world.
KIPP Colorado Schools has called the Southwest Denver community home for over 15 years. Our newest elementary school and ECE program is the result of listening to the needs of current KIPP Colorado families and members of the Southwest Denver community, who voiced an interest in an elementary school for their children focused on bilingual education and a high-quality early childhood education program. We’re excited to join a legacy of success with our middle school and high school, KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy and KIPP Denver Collegiate High School!
