KIPP Colorado Schools offers Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs at KIPP Northeast Elementary and KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary.
ECE programs at KIPP Colorado Schools place an emphasis on language development and social-emotional development. Our youngest students experience both free-play and structured learning environments as they develop the skills that will set them up for a lifelong love of learning. Our ECE program also promotes bi-literacy, and we work with parents to determine the level of Spanish instruction that is needed for their student.
In our ECE classrooms, faculty are trained to observe student progress in areas of language, literacy, math, science, arts, motor, social-emotional, and cognitive development to ensure that the needs of the whole child are being met.
Like all KIPP schools, we use data to inform our instruction practices. A recent study by Mathematica Policy Research shows that students who attended KIPP ECE programs went on to demonstrate higher levels of achievement in elementary school.
